Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by the body's prostate gland and urinary system. PSA comes in a variety of forms, including total and free PSA. They can either bind to another protein or float about on their own, depending on the situation. Using a complete PSA test, all PSA is measured, including both bound and free-floating antigens.
